Who I am
This website is run by Jesse Heffels, based in Roermond, the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce / KvK number 70677638). I am responsible for how your personal data is handled on this site. Questions about your data? Email me at viral@jesseheffels.com.
What I collect and why
- Contact form. When you send a message, I receive your name, company, email address, the type of project you picked and your message. I use this only to reply to you and to discuss a possible collaboration. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a possible agreement, and my legitimate interest in answering business enquiries.
- Email. If you email me directly, I use your email address and message only to reply to you.
- Visitor statistics. I use Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people visit the site, roughly where they come from (country), which device they use and which site referred them. It does not use cookies and does not identify you personally.
I do not sell your data, and I do not use it for advertising.
Services that process data for me
- Vercel hosts this website. Like any web host, its servers briefly process technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages and keep the site secure.
- FormSubmit (formsubmit.co) delivers contact form messages to my inbox.
- Google (Gmail) is where messages and emails arrive.
- YouTube plays the introduction video, using its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play.
Some of these services are based in the United States. Where data leaves the EU, they rely on safeguards such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Cookies
This website does not place tracking or advertising cookies, so there is no cookie banner. When you play the introduction video, YouTube may store technical data in your browser to play it; that is covered by YouTube's own privacy policy.
How long I keep your data
I keep messages and emails as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any collaboration that follows, and for as long as the law requires for business records. Messages that do not lead to a collaboration are deleted within two years.
Your rights
You can ask me to see, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its use, or to receive it in a portable format. Just email viral@jesseheffels.com. If you are not happy with how I handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. See also the Terms and Conditions.
